This is the continuation of our last topic which tackled about the first things that happen with the human body right after life force and blood supply run out. These following processes take place zero to three days right after death and proceed to finally achieve decomposition. Here are the details of the human body’s saga in reaching the ultimate end:

Initial Decay: 0-3 days after death

The body will appear fresh on the outside but certain processes start inside the body, which then contribute to decomposition. The bacteria which were inside the intestines will begin to feed on the remaining nutrients and contents in the intestine and then the intestine itself. These microorganisms eventually spread out into other organs and also feed on them. Enzymes that were inside the intestines and the stomach will also leak out and aid in the breakdown of organs and tissues, while the enzymes inside the cells will also digest the cell itself and its connections. Once insects like flies from external surroundings sense the smell of a decomposing body, they will begin to swarm and lay their eggs around openings like wounds, mouth, nose, eyes, and so on. And soon these insects along with their larvae and maggots will also feed on the dead tissues.

Putrefaction: 4-10 days after death

While the host of bacteria breaks down the cells, tissues, and organs of the body, they also produce a huge amount of gas. These gases are putrescine, cadaverine, methane, and also sulfide, which give the decomposing body its horrible smell and also inflate it. This bloating process provides more means to force out more body fluids. This putrid smell together with the fluids are what insects love and so more flies along with beetles and mites come to swarm the body and again lay their eggs on it.

Black Putrefaction: 10-20 days after death

At this point, the bloated body would have collapsed while the flesh already creamy. The body parts that were exposed to air will turn black as the body continues to reek. One important feature in this stage is the increased temperature of the body from all the activities contributed by the insects and bacteria as they continue to grow in population and consume the remaining flesh.

Butyric Fermentation: 20-50 days after death

All the flesh on the cadaver is gone as the body starts to desiccate. It would have a cheese-like smell due to butyric acid present in the corpse. This new smell on the other hand will start to attract more but different organisms composed of molds and also beetles. Because there are no more soft parts to feed on, maggots are no longer in the scene, however, beetles and other insects will continue to chew through more solid parts such as the skin and ligaments.

Dry Decay: 50-365 days after death

The cadaver becomes really dry but decays very slowly. Moths and bacteria will now begin to eat the hair to leave nothing but bones. This concludes the final step of body decomposition and the reason why it’s always the bones that are left.

All the process still depend on a lot of factors that include climate, temperature, moisture, and presence of microorganisms to finally determine the time it takes for the body to decay. As a rule, bodies that are buried take longer time to decompose compared to bodies that are left exposed in the air. Also, summer influences faster decomposition in contrast to winter.

Since 2000, the trend for preserving youth and beauty has constantly increased up to this day. This is so apparent in women aging from mid-20s and even up to 70 and something. Just look how liposuction became a mainstream procedure for aesthetic weight loss or how Botox create a spark of hope for aging skin. All these can be accounted to the continuous discovery in biological science and the innovation that technology bestows.

While others like it technically bloody and invasive for the name of beauty, some would just like it to be more au naturel, simple, quick, and definitely painless. And perhaps the most fitting means for this depiction would be cosmetic or simply makeup. Today lots of cosmetic brands have emerged with different claims like long-lasting wear or non-irritable. But what’s really getting more popular these days are the mineral or organic make up.

What’s really interesting with this kind of makeup?

These organic or mineral cosmetics are basically natural cosmetics which are made from micronized minerals, mineral pigments and natural plant extracts, which provide natural sun filters. Similar to synthetic chemical-laden makeups, they’re also long-lasting and ultimately deliver a healthy-looking radiant glow. But unlike the synthetic type, none of them contain synthetic FD&C dyes, fillers, binders, artificial fragrances, or petro chemicals, which make them ideal for sensitive skin.

A mineral makeups is versatile, has a light-weight feel, easy to use, and non-comodogenic. It’s more like a natural choice for skincare regime which make it in demand among cosmetic wearers. It’s light-weight feel enables a wearer for layering options if more coverage is needed. Morever, most of these mineral makeups contain natural and inert ingredients that are bacteria-resistant and have natural anti-inflammatory properties.

There are already lots of mineral makeup brands that teemed the internet and stores but here are some brands which can help you choose with what you need for a healthy skin: e.l.f (Eyes Lips Face), Covergirl, Erth Mineral Makeup, Jane Iredale, Sheer Cover, Avon Mineral Makeup, and Illuminare.

Glutathione may have been generally known for its medical benefits most especially in the Western world. GHS or gamma-Glutamylcysteinglycine is actually a protein consisted of glutamic acid, cysteine, and glycine. The process of its metabolism was first discovered in 1984 and in the same year its use for cancer treatment also began.

Experts say that GSH actually does 27 wonders in the human body, although essentially it serves as an “antioxidant cellular defender, immunity boosting protector at the cellular level, and detoxifying warrior for each and every cell.” It’s naturally produced by our liver but with the loads of stress that our body endures at the cellular level, nutritional supplement from isolated GSH forms were synthesized and made available for people especially the aging ones and those with poor health.

One item that has caught my eye that is out on the market it goji berries they seem very healthy for one to eat.

But what’s more interesting is the increasing trend in Asia in using GHS as a supplement for aesthetic purposes in the same way that L-carnitine is used for weight loss. In the eastern part of this world, people use GSH to promote skin lightening, anti-aging, and pimple elimination through its antioxidant property. Although there has been a debate over the effectiveness of GHS for such aesthetic purposes, many Asian celebrities have already attested to its efficacy. That’s why in Asia where people desire for a lighter skin in as much as Westerners love a tan, the increasing rate of GSH use either orally or intravenously is mainly attributed to preserving beauty and youth.

Perhaps, there’s no harm in using any of Glutathione forms to get the results people want, but it’s also more satisfying as a health-conscious consumer to know that GSH offers more than superficial beauty. At the present time, studies have proven that its use has been so valuable in treating heavy metal poisoning, Parkinson’s disease, lowering blood pressure, sickle cell anemia, and a lot more. Whether you’re into preserving beauty or preserving health, Glutathione will definitely let you have any way you want it.

We know yoga as a traditional physical and mental discipline that originated from India and it’s been an ancient practice of Indian people. Westerners and other countries have only adapted the practice recently, perhaps one or two decades ago. Today, it’s been popular around the world with different variations in its practice especially among the adult as it centers on wellness, fitness, and meditation.

Many accounts from people of different age and ethnicity attest to the positive effects of yoga. These include alleviated body pains, stress-free lifestyle, and enhanced focus and stamina to name a few. In addition to these, yoga instructors and practitioners also recommend the practice to people with depression, cancer, heart and lung diseases, weight problem, and even to pregnant women. These references are of course based on world-wide studies conducted by medical scientists and by yoga practitioners themselves. But it should be noted that although the above effects are benefitting those are actually an indirect outcome caused by the created balance (i.e mental peace, improved concentration powers, etc.) in an individual’s mind and body, which is the true aim of yoga.

Given the fact that yoga definitely brings good effects, modern practitioners have embarked on the encouragement of children participation. According to them, children of this present generation are exposed to numerous mind and body pollutants. There are news about crimes, poverty, and war, to which the youth have easy access because of TV, radio, and internet. Technology has brought violent video games while many factories destroy the ozone layer and causing a significant amount of UV rays entering the planet. The food and drug industry also has its share by introducing lots of junk foods, preservatives, toxic ingredients, and other free-radical causing ingredients in the foods that children eat.

(Discover how kid yoga is done: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ibi2QIHc1Zw )

Yoga for kids is aimed to promote holistic growth for the youth as well as finding a revolutionary means for fun by expanding their hobbies and interests, and not by limiting them to activities that are only aimed for children. Yoga can be done by the whole family. Once a child realizes the fun in doing it with his or her parents and siblings, that experience is enough to justify another benefit that yoga can bring. As we can see, although parental love, care and education are the best things we can give to our children, sometimes there are still some things beyond the ordinary, which we can actually provide to secure our kids’ good development, health, and of course their future.

This weekend I was fortunate enough to be invited to “tryouts” for a team not most would really ever consider, being a Sheriff Deputy.  Like any job, there is a hiring process you have to go through and hurdles you have to jump to be considered as a Sheriff Deputy Candidate.  About six months ago, I had submitted my application for the Reserve Deputy Sheriff.  It wasn’t until last week, when I received a letter in the mail inviting me to the physical abilities test and exam.

Excited about the opportunity and nervous at the same time.  It has been awhile since I have done any sort of structured workouts and wasn’t sure that I was ready enough to attend. As time approached I ended up pushing myself to testing site.  Upon arrival, I noticed the massive amounts of people who wanted to tryout for this once in a lifetime opportunity.  After orientation I found out the details of what was expected of me to pass and move onto the next step, which is the exam. I knew if I didn’t pass this, I would not be going on the the exam session. In the next hour I needed to show that I can do:

A) 1 1/2 mile run (16:32 or less)

B) 29 Sit ups (60 Seconds)

C) 25 Push ups (No Time Limit)

D) Vertical Jump (14inches)

C) 300m sprint (60 seconds)

In theory, it looks and usually is pretty simple especially for those who workout on a daily basis.  I ended passing all of the different components to this test.  One thing I can say, I will start working out on a daily basis.  I can definitely feel the affects this week and boy I’m sore. Overall I’m glad I had the opportunity to pass this first of many hurdles.

It is important to keep to have a structured workout to keep your body at its best. Your muscles are like rubber bands and if you don’t involve yourself in physical activity, your muscles will become tight. So the next time you use them, it will feel sore like mine did at the test.  It is important to perform at least 20mins of physical activity a day, weather is would be a light walk or a vigorous run. Check out Men’s Health Online, they have many different workout routines and information catered to you.

aspertame intake

Aspartame has long been touted as the healthy alternative to sugar when in reality it is way more dangerous to your health than any amount of sugar.  It is made up of three chemicals, aspartic acid, Phenylalanine and Methanol/wood alcohol.  The methanol breaks down into formaldehyde a chemical used to embalm dead bodies!  It has a very low rate of excretion so once it is absorbed it staysfor quite some time.  Phenylalanine can cause brain damage, and erratic mood swings.

In reports to the Food and Drug Administration over seventy-five percent of adverse reactions to food additives are from aspartame.  The final chemical alone has been reported tocause MS, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, better know as Lou Gherigs disease, Parkinson’s and hormonal disorders among other things.  The damage that aspartame causes has been greatly understated. Aspartame should be avoided at all costs due to its serious health risks.  It is most important for infants, children, nursing mothers and women of childbearing age to avoid it as causes negative endocrine responses.  Until it is made illegal everyone should do there best to avoid anything containing aspartame.
