  • MAPI was initiator and instrumental in forming our national organization, AAPI, which has attained a membership of 37,000 physicians and it consists of several local chapters, specialty societies and medical alumni organizations
  • MAPI was the first Indian Organization in the nation to form a professional charitable foundation, and pursued it to form our national charitable foundation (AAPI Charitable Foundation). Together we have started and are supporting many projects such as medical clinics, disaster relief, etc. in India and in the United states
  • MAPI has worked diligently with the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) to establish the first IMG section in the MSMS (the first of its kind in the nation!). Subsequently, the AAPI along with other ethnic organizations established the IMG section in the AMA.
  • MAPI conducts several events including Continuing Medical Education (CME) seminars, business meetings and Annual Dinner & Dance every year.

So what I would like to know is why when the price of a barrel of oil dropped by almost half in the matter of 2 weeks, the price of gas remains to be relatively high. The other problem with this is when the price of oil shoot way up the price of gas followed almost within days. So if the prices of both oil and gas relate so much to each other then the price of a gallon of gas now with the price of oil should be a lot less then it is. So is the differences because  the gas stations are  still trying to sell the gas that they paid so much for ? Or are the owners just trying to make more money then they should? I am not sure what the answer is to this question but it bears some explanation. When the price of gas touches everybody in America in one way or another  it makes one wonder who is in charge of regulating the price of gas.

If all you here in a day is that at 5pm the world is coming to end you might just start to believe it. All the news talks about is how bad off we are. Now I think that is the truth to a certain point and things need to be done in order to get us out of the mess that we are in. However I do not believe that is all that we need to hear about day after day. Also if that is all people hear then they tend to make hasty decisions and sometimes make the situation worse then it already is. The economy hurts more then just the wallet because when it comes to money people tend to get very worried, depressed, anxious or sometimes all of the above. The USA can over come the problem we are in but it is important to not over react and make hasty decisions.

The Michigan Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (MAPI) was founded in 1976 by a small group of gallant physicians of Indian origin. These founders defined and structured this organization as the first to support the international medical graduates of Indian origin. MAPI soon evolved into a larger entity as additional Indian physicians dedicated their time to the worthy causes of MAPI. In 1982, MAPI gave birth to a larger umbrella organization, the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), a national professional organization.

MAPI focuses primarily on issues surrounding practice of medicine by its members. It conducts educational activities through various professional channels and Continuing Medical Education (CME) meetings. Past speakers have included renowned physicians and high-ranking officers of various national medical associations, political leaders, and financial executives.

MAPI officers and members have voiced their opinions at both state and national levels. In addition, they have participated in medical associations throughout county and state levels in Michigan as well as at the national level in Washington D.C. Its members have consistently exhibited their abilities and reliance in various organizations including MAPI, AAPI, the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS), and the American Medical Association (AMA).

Credit is something that has always come in handy. In today’s age however if you do not have good credit it can hurt your wallet a lot more then you think. It could not only effect your chances of buy a house or a car but also cause your insurance to go up hurt your chances to get a cell phone and more. I am not sure how credit went from something that we use every once in a while to something that effects our everyday life. So now more then ever we have to keep a close eye on how we treat our credit, because a little mistake today can cause big problems tomorrow. Several people have many different theories on how consumers should handle their credit in order to get the best results. One of the biggest problems with that is which one do you trust. To bad the people telling you how to manage your credit don’t show you theirs. Could you even imagine if you took credit advice from someone who had a credit score of 500? In my opinion the best advice is the simplest. Below are some key points that I think are nothing more then common sense and if followed would allow some one to have a great credit score.

* If you have credit with someone pay your bills on time.

* Don’t spend more then you can afford.

* Don’t keep high balances on your credit cards.

* More is not always better when it comes to the amount of credit card you have.
